Not far from the dynamic town of Les Herbiers, 2.5 km from a small town with all shops and services, the property is situated in a beautiful rural environment, bordering a river, without any nuisance.

The building was the scene of historical events during the Revolution. At that time, the property was inhabited by the Jourdain des Hermitans family.
Léon Jourdain, who was a lieutenant of the King's ships and a Knight of Saint Louis, emigrated at the beginning of the Revolution to answer the call of the Princes, brothers of the King. .
He married Jeanne Victoire Le Bœuf on 26 February 1770. From this union, three daughters were born: Jeanne Victoire (1772) Louise Félicité (1773) and Louise Olive (1776).
Until the end of 1793, Madame Jourdain and her three daughters continued to live at the property, giving shelter to the Vendean leaders, including Charrette. It was perhaps at their home that Charrette was elected General-in-Chief of the Armies of Bas-Poitou.
In January 1794, the mayor of the commune had them arrested. They appeared in Nantes on 7 January 1795 before the Revolutionary Tribunal and were condemned all three as "accomplices of brigands to perish in the waters of the Loire". The sentence was carried out immediately.
The property was then bought as national property by the citizen Pierre Ageron.

It is said that a treasure is hidden in the underground passage, which leads to an abbey. This treasure has still not been found...
